Newly hired Great Bend Police Department officer Emma Mooney, right, sits with veteran officer Sgt. Gary Davis at the City Council Monday night. Mooney was introduced to the council by Chief Steve Haulmark who noted that she was from Hoisington and being a police officer was a lifelong dream of hers. She makes the sixth female officer with the department and will be going through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in the near future.
