HOISINGTON — April 12 is D.E.A.R. Day. D.E.A.R. is an acronym for Drop Everything And Read. For this nationwide day the Hoisington Middle School KAYs and the Title I Reading program decided to host an event that would promote literacy. On April 12, there will be a Scholastic Book Fair at the Hoisington Activity Center in the meeting room. The Fair will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. where the public can purchase books for all ages. The proceeds of the sales will be used to purchase books for the Hoisington school libraries.

During the day the elementary students will be scheduled to come over to the Activity Center and look over the fair items and the Middle School KAYs will read various books and provide activities for them.

The elementary parent group, HEPA, and the middle school parent group, PRIDE, have generously donated a dollar gift certificate for Hoisington Students towards the purchase of a book at the book fair.
