The Great Bend Noon Lions Club wanted to do a service project that would make a difference here at home, member Dee Holman said. After hearing a presentation from Great Bend USD 428 about the continual need to stock food pantries at the schools, they had their project – collecting food and personal items for the Great Bend High School Food Pantry.

“We decided that was something we all could easily do to be supportive of our community,” she said. They recently made a delivery of the items collected.

“They are much appreciated,” said GBHS Counselor Rachel Thexton.

The club meets at noon on Tuesdays at Perkins restaurant, 2920 10th St.
