On Monday, Larned High School sponsored a blood drive, mainly for Larned High School students, to encourage young people to be blood donors. The Red Cross was able to collect 44 usable units, with 30 new blood donors. This is the first of two LHS drives. The LHS National Honor Society hosts and works the blood drives. Another one will be scheduled in the spring.

LARNED — The crew at Comfort Systems Inc of Larned counted, sorted and boxed the food donations in preparation for delivery to the Fort Larned Lions Christmas project. Donations can still be dropped off at the Mid American Credit Union, 114 W. 5th in Larned and Comfort Systems Inc., 622 Topeka Street, Larned, No it is not all eggs. Cal-Maine foods donated 300 egg boxes for the delivery to 106 families in Pawnee County.
