LARNED — Injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Larned man Tuesday afternoon on K-156, one mile west of 180th Avenue and K-156.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Larned’s Johnathan Lee Hopkins, 20, was operating a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on K-156 when the motorcycle traveled left of center for an undetermined reason.
The accident report indicated the motorcycle traveled westbound into the south ditch before hitting a culvert. The patrol reports the motorcycle went airborne and traveled several hundred feet throwing Hopkins from the bike.
Hopkins was transported to Pawnee Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
