Trinity Lutheran Church is hosting the LCMC Women of the Word Heartland District Fall Conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 in the Fellowship Hall of the church, located at 24th and Adams in Great Bend. Speaker for the event will be Patti Winkler.

“Quilts in the Classroom – telling the stories of history one quilt at a time” will be the theme for the event.

Winkler uses historical and original quilts to bring history alive. Experience some of the best stories of history starring Clara Barton and Carry A. Nation. The public is welcome.

The pews in the sanctuary will be draped with multicolored quilts created over the past year by the congregation’s quilters. These quilts will be shipped to Lutheran World Relief in Minnesota and then be sent all over the world. The church will also send 85 school kits and 24 personal care kits.
