Two people from Dodge City were taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital following a rollover accident Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of West Barton County Road. They were treated for minor injuries and released.

Lt. Brian Bellendir at the Barton County Sheriff’s Office said Evangelina S. Cordero, 52, of Dodge City was driving a westbound Ford Escape and lost control of the vehicle due to icy roads around 2:10 p.m. The Escape went into a yawing skid, entered the north ditch and continued to slide until it rolled, coming to rest on its top. The driver was not injured.

Both westbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes while Emergency Medical Service crews from Great Bend Fire Department Ambulance were on the scene.
