Scouting for food

On Oct. 29, our community will participate in Scouting for Food. Our local food banks continue to serve many families, and the need is great. Local scouts wish to help these families in need by collecting food items in the annual Scouting for Food drive.
Local Boy Scouts of America organizations that will be participating are: Pack 158 and Troop 153 of Ellinwood; and Troop 149, Pack 157, Troop 157, Pack 184 and Troop 184, all of Great Bend. The boy scouts will be accepting donations of non-perishable items for their local food banks. Suggested items include canned fruits, canned vegetables, dry pasta, peanut butter, and canned meats.
You can help your local scout group by donating non-perishable items on Oct. 29, at the local food markets in Great Bend and Ellinwood. If you are unable to donate items at that time, but would still like to participate, call Darla Abbott at 793-9208 to arrange pick-up of items. A local scout in your area will collect items from your doorstep.
