Tena Westenhaver of Great Bend is kicking off her Soles4Souls Shoe Drive from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at her home, 1801 VanBuren. This is just the first effort in her year-long campaign to collect 25,000 pairs of shoes the Soles for Souls organization can distribute to the needy and victims of disasters.
If she meets her goal, she will earn a mission trip to Haiti, she said. Even though she has times set Saturday, donors can drop off shoes at house anytime.
That leads to another issue – storage. Westenhaver is also looking for someone to donate space for her to stash contributions.
For more information, call her at 620-282-4502.
