Barton Community College is offering a course to help people become more familiar with some of the basics of exploring the Internet. Classes will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. every Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Oct. 15, at the Center for Adult Education, 1025 Main St., room D-107, Great Bend.
Instructor Rich Unrein will teach students how to use links, customize and perform searches, run virus scans and organize a favorites list. Google and Firefox will be covered, as well as how to keep computer files cleaned up and eliminate slow running times. The class will also focus on some email basics such as how to use Microsoft Outlook to set up an email account, create and edit an address book, use task manager and create appointments or meetings. The course is designed to create a level of comfort and familiarity for all students when using the Internet and email.
Cost of the course is $32 for Silver Cougar Club members and $91 for non-members. For more information, contact Coleen Cape by calling 620-786-1136. There is a maximum number of 12 for this class.
