Sterling College Music Department will be presenting “Candlelight,” their annual Christmas concert, at 7 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 3 at the United Methodist Church in Sterling.
The concert will feature performances by a variety of Sterling College music ensembles, including the Highland Singers, Concert Choir, Sterling Chorale, Highland Quartet and Highland Lasses as well as a variety of soloists. Stacy Clark will serve as the reader for “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” which juxtaposes scripture lessons with songs.
Audience members will hear selections such as “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “For Unto Us A Child is Born,” “Silent Night,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Sussex Carol,” “We Three Kings,” “Joy to the World” and many others.
The choral ensembles are under the direction of Mark Clark, director of choral activities and assistant professor of music at Sterling College. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Sterling College Music Department at 620-278-2173.
