Trucker hits cows in Rice County

A truck driver was taken to the Rice County Hospital in Lyons on Tuesday after his rig hit several cows in the roadway on U.S. 56, 4 miles east of Little River.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 10:40 p.m. The eastbound Freightliner and trailer left the roadway and entered the south ditch, where it overturned. The driver was 28-year-old Amir Memic from Arnold, Mo. He was not wearing a seat belt and sustained possible injury.
The vehicle was removed to a wrecker lot by Autohouse.
