A Florida man driving a U-Haul truck was injured when the vehicle rear-ended a semitrailer Friday morning in Ellsworth, Kansas Highway Patrol reports.
The collision was reported at 10:10 a.m. on northeast K-156, 240 feet southwest of Third Street in Ellsworth.
The 2016 Freightliner semi was traveling northeast on K-156 when the 2017 GMC U-Haul ran into the rear of the trailer. The GMC went off the right side of the roadway and came to rest in the ditch. Driver Donald Ray Blackwell, 31, from Florida City, Florida, was taken to Ellsworth Medical Center with undetermined injuries.
The U-Haul vehicle was removed by Randy’s Body Shop.
The semi was pulling a utility trailer. Driver Alejandro Chaves Ramos, 33, and his passenger, both of Mesa Arizona, were not injured. All of the motorists were wearing seat belts.
