The following events are scheduled for Great Bend USD 428


• Family Reading Night – Monday, Nov. 26, 6:30-8 p.m. at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center (592 NE K-156 Great Bend)

To celebrate the Great Bend Reading Initiative wrapping up this month, students and families are invited to enjoy an evening at KWEC. Activities will include: Inflatable Planetarium Show; meet live rabbits; make and take crafts; view the new KWEC Exhibits

• Community Feedback Meeting – Tuesday, November 27, 6:30 p.m. at the Great Bend Middle School Commons Area, 1919 Harrison St.

As USD 428 considers a 20-30 year Master Facilities Plan, the community is invited to learn more about the identified needs and proposed solutions. An architect from SJCF will provide a 45-minute presentation followed by a live survey to capture community feedback before the final draft of the plan is prepared for the Board of Education. An additional date/time offering is available on Tuesday, December 4 at 5 p.m. in the Great Bend High School Auditorium.

• Parents as Teachers Playgroup – Thursday, November 29, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Great Bend Public Library

Parents and children of all ages are invited to enjoy story time, craft and a snack at the GBPL. Parents as Teachers (PAT) exists to help parents make new friends, spend time playing with their children, and enjoying themselves. All are invited to attend.
