Vehicle crashes south of Hoisington

Two people from Rooks County were taken to the hospital on Sunday after a vehicle blew a tire and crashed on U.S. 281, three-fourths of a mile south of Hoisington. Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer went off the roadway and overturned in the east ditch around 7:45 p.m.
Driver Shawn E.J. Preister, 59, from Woodston and passenger Christian D. Henry, 18, also from Woodston, were not injured. Two passengers were transported to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington with possible injuries. They are Brooke Stormi Preister, 19, and a 10-month-old infant boy.
The infant was the only person in the vehicle wearing a safety restraint.
The vehicle was removed by Marshall’s to a tow lot.
