A Veterans Day luncheon will be provided from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the St. Rose Auditorium, 1412 Baker Ave. Veterans will eat free. For everyone else, a freewill offering will be accepted with proceeds to benefit Kansas Honor Flight.

This is a new event sponsored by the Youth Group of Prince of Peace Parish, said Rose Duvall, assistant director of religious education at Holy Family School. “If it is a success we will be doing this every year,” she said.

“The freewill offering is to cover our cost and anything up and beyond will be donated to Honor Flight. The youth will be preparing and serving the meal,” Duvall added. “We want to honor our vets and show and teach our youth about service to our community and teach them what an honor it is to serve our country.”
