Barton County Young Professionals and the Great Bend Rotary Club will host the 9th Annual Charity Supply Drive on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both Dillons grocery stores and Walmart. The BCYP Community Impact Team is recruiting volunteers to work one-hour shifts at each of these locations. Volunteers will pass out shopping lists to shoppers and collect donations of food and household supplies from customers to benefit the Barton County Food Bank and Catholic Charities’ Non-Food Pantry.
Sign up online at https://volunteersignup.org/94QM9.
Volunteers can choose their shift(s) and location. They will stand outside the store locations and hand out shopping lists. These lists contain suggested items that shoppers can purchase for the local charities. Donations will be gathered in shopping carts right outside the store and loaded into vans that will transport the donations to the charities later that day.
Cash donations will also be accepted.
BCYP reports that in past years, more than 1,800 pounds of food were donated to the local food bank and many non-food items to the Catholic Charities pantry.
