Barton County Election Officer Donna Zimmerman said Friday that 190 mail-in ballots that arrived by Friday were added to ballots counted on election day, Aug. 4.
To be counted, a mail-in ballot had to be postmarked on or before Aug. 4 and received at the courthouse by Aug. 7. Zimmerman said her office received 172 such ballots on Wednesday, 15 on Thursday and three on Friday.
The Barton County Commission will meet as a board of canvassers at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the courthouse. At that time, after reviewing provisional ballots and determining their status, the final election results may be deemed “official.”
