HOISINGTON — Repair of the bridge over Blood Creek drainage located two miles northwest of Hoisington on U.S. 281 will start next week, Kansas Department of Transportation reports.
The bridge repair will start on or about Tuesday, Feb. 5, and should be completed by the end of May, weather permitting. During construction the bridge will be limited to one lane with traffic through the work zone controlled by traffic signals, so drivers can expect delays. There will be a 15-foot width restriction in the work zone, so vehicles wider than 15 feet will need to use an alternate route.
Highway construction project locations and road condition information can be viewed online at http://511.ksdot.org, or can be accessed by telephone by dialing 511.
King Construction Co. Inc. from Hesston is the prime contractor for this $209,000 project, which is funded by T-WORKS, the transportation program passed by the Kansas Legislature in May 2010.
