The Barton County Young Professionals group will gather for the third annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Kiowa Kantina inside Kiowa Kitchen, 214 E. Barton County Road.
“Ugly sweaters are a great conversation starter,” said Chamber Marketing Coordinator Rachel Mawhirter. “The whole purpose of our group is help young people network and get involved in the community, so the sweaters are a fun way to break the ice.”
In addition to a casual and fun atmosphere for networking, the Christmas party also serves as an opportunity for Young Professionals to give back to their community. “Admission into the party is a donation of food or cash to the Barton County Food Bank,” Mawhirter said. “We’re starting to give back in small ways, with hopes of doing bigger and better things in the coming months.”
Those in attendance will also enjoy free food, door prizes, and the first 50 people through the door will get a free drink courtesy of the event sponsor, Satellite Pros. Employers in Barton County are asked to lead the charge in the group’s growth. Barton County Young Professionals group receive various benefits, including discounts around town, free leadership training, exclusive invites to networking events, and opportunities to give back to the community.
Anyone interested in joining the group should plan on attending the Christmas party on Dec. 11. Enter through the side door of Kiowa Kitchen. RSVP to bartonyp@gmail.com.
