RICE COUNTY — A Lindsborg man was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with suspected serious injuries Thursday after a motorcycle and car sideswiped each other on K-14, about 3.2 miles south of Lyons at 11:12 p.m. The driver of the car had no apparent injury.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, A 2001 Toyota Camry driven by Melissa L. Bethea, 60, of Chase, was traveling south of K-14 and entered the northbound lane to pass a stationary Rice County Sheriff’s vehicle that was on a traffic stop. Kevin D. Malm, 61, from Lindsborg was on a northbound Harley-Davidson FLSTC Heritage Soft Tail.

Bethea was wearing a seat belt and Malm was wearing eye protection, KHP reports.
