Early morning traffic stop results in drug arrest

One man was arrested early Thursday morning after drugs were detected in his vehicle during the course a traffic stop in Great Bend.

According to the Great Bend Police Department, at approximately 3:18 a.m. Thursday, a GBPD officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3300 block of 10th St. for a traffic violation. 

During the traffic stop, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, and only occupant, identified as Tyler Epp, 21, was also driving on a revoked driver’s license. Inside of Epp’s vehicle, the officer located approximately 30 cartridges with THC for vape pens, as well as a large quantity of highly concentrated marijuana wax. Epp was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of bond on charges of distribution of marijuana and driving while revoked. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office also assisted on this case.
