Great Bend police officers arrested two men Wednesday morning following a report of a stolen vehicle from Rice County being located in Great Bend.
According to a GBPD report, at shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, the department received information from the public of a vehicle possibly stolen out of Rice County being driven around Great Bend. A GBPD officer located the vehicle and was able to confirm it had been stolen. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Jefferson Street when the stolen pickup entered a driveway.
When the vehicle came to a stop, two male subjects exited and began to run east toward Washington Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located both subjects without incident in the 2600 block of 10th Street.
Jose Montanez-Cortez, 24, and Omar Dominguez-Campos, 27, were arrested at the scene. During the course of the arrest, officers located paraphernalia containing a white substance on Dominguez-Campos. This substance field tested positive for suspected methamphetamine. Both subjects were booked for new charges and for outstanding warrants.
