LARNED — On Wednesday, Taylor Morgan-Marie Horstman, 23 of Larned, appeared in the Pawnee County District Court in the custody of Pawnee County Sheriff on charges of felony flee and elude, felony interference of law enforcement, driving while suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pawnee County Attorney Douglas McNett reports Taylor was arrested by the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, with the assistance of the Larned Police Department, on Monday night, May 25. Local law enforcement had been advised that a vehicle stolen in Hoisington earlier that day might be in the Larned area.

“Once the vehicle was located, a short car chase ensued in a residential area,” McNett said. The suspect later abandoned the vehicle and was quickly apprehended through the deployment of the K-9. No one was injured.

At Wednesday’s hearing, Magistrate Judge Julie Cowell advised the defendant of her charges, the possible penalties and her constitutional rights. A preliminary hearing was set for June 10.

The defendant remains in custody with bond set at $5,000 cash or surety.
