Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Wednesday. At At 3:08 p.m. units responded to 57 S.E. 20 Road for a smoke alarm activated in the basement. It was an accidental false alarm.

 Barton County Sheriff
A Pawnee Rock resident on Wednesday complained about reported attempts to scam her via telephone.
A tire fell off a truck at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday on West K-4 and U.S. 281, and then a fire started under the truck.
A Ford Fusion hit a raccoon at 8:09 p.m. on NW K-96 and NW 90 Ave.

Great Bend Police
 A criminal trespass case was taken Wednesday after it was reported someone was sleeping in a basement in the 2700 block of Forest Ave. without permission.
A gas skip was reported at 2337 Washington St.
Christmas decorations were taken from a yard at 2206 Jackson Ave.
Multiple fraud cases were taken after an individual wrote checks on a frozen account.
A gas skip was reported at 4107 10th St. The suspect vehicle tag number was KS 412DZS.
A vehicle driven by Lori Sterba was southbound in the 1500 block of Main at 5:29 p.m. and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Barbara Erdman, who was stopped in traffic.
