Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs Friday, two Saturday and six Sunday.
At 9:05 a.m. Friday, units were dispatched to the Arkansas River where the flood control spills in, to check on a report of smoke in the area. They found a small campfire that was still smoldering, and extinguished it.
At 10:26 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to 1612 Morphy  St. for a report of a water heater smoking. They discovered a leak in the water line that was contacting the burner and converting to steam. The resident was advised to contact the landlord.

Great Bend Police
A burglary was reported Friday at 2907 21st St. Someone broke into the residence and took tools and carpet rolls.
A Great Bend resident reported someone used his debit card number to make unauthorized purchases.
Tools were reportedly stolen from 821 Morphy St.
A purse was reportedly stolen at Dollar General Store, 3502 10th St.
A suspected shoplifter at Walmart was served a notice to appear in municipal court.
On Saturday a Great Bend resident reported someone using her debit card at Dollar General Store.
Vehicles driven by Joyce Noah and Caleb Krankenberg collided at 4:36 p.m. Sunday at Eighth and Hubbard St.
An officer reported a narcotics case and a curfew violation, shortly before 2 a.m. Monday on Broadway Ave.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A Plainville teenager sustained possible injury around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when she lost control of a pickup she was driving while passing a car on Interstate 70, just east of K-156 in Ellsworth County. The 1999 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Danielle R. Sherraden, 19, hit the 2004 Pontiac, and both vehicles came to rest in the ditch. Sherraden was taken to Ellsworth Medical Center. The car was driven by Mandy J. Rowh-Hovis, 36, of Wichita. She and her passenger were not injured. All were wearing seat belts.
A 25-year-old Geneseo motorist sustained possible injury around 10:10 a.m. Monday when a 1995 Dodge van hit slush on K-4, approximately 4 miles east of Geneseo, and slid into the ditch. Carolyn Ann Turner was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was wearing a seat belt and her 4-month-old daughter was in a child safety seat. The baby was not injured.
