Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs Wednesday.
At 1:04 a.m. Thursday they responded to assist the Pawnee Rock Fire Department in extinguishing burning hay bales at SW 70 Road and SW 90 Ave. The fire 2 miles east of Pawnee Rock was reported at 12:48 a.m.
Chief Mike Napolitano provided an update on the trailer fire reported at 4:08 a.m. Wednesday at 305 Maple St. Investigators found the fire started in front portion of the 1980 12-by-60-foot mobile home, which was unoccupied. The cause is still undetermined; however, the Great Bend Police Department is continuing its investigation.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a stop sign at 350 North U.S. 281, knocking down the sign before leaving the area, it was reported Wednesday.

Great Bend Police
Police took a child in need of care case on Wednesday.
