Great Bend Fire/EMS

Firefighters made four ambulance runs Thursday.
At 11:21 a.m., units responded to a gas leak at 197 North U.S. 281. They found a gas line leak caused by boring operations, and stayed one the scene until the gas company was able to get the gas shut down.
At 12:31 p.m., while still at the gas leak, others were dispatched to a possible fire at SE 20 Road and SE 20 Ave., where a passerby reported heavy smoke in that area. They were not able to locate anything.

Great Bend Police
A broken window on a Chevy Malibu at 1213 Baker Ave. was reported Thursday.
A burglary was reported at 1013 Stone St. A snowmobile was taken from the shed.
Someone broke the lock on the back door at 1102 Hubbard St.
