Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs Tuesday.
At 2:17 p.m., smoke was seen from trees at the river. A Great Bend city employee found a man burning copper in the river on South Washington Ave. Trucks were dispatched and firefighters found and extinguished the illegal burn.
At 1 a.m. Wednesday, units responded to 5921 Hemlock for a cooking fire. The fire was out when they arrived and damage was confined to the appliance.

Great Bend Police
A dog bite was reported Tuesday in the 2900 block of Quivira Ave.
Vehicles driven by Joe Trevino and Deric Gowdy collided at 1:08 p.m. in the 1900 block of Broadway Ave.
A license tag decal was stolen from 4914 Eighth St.
Multiple cases were taken of alleged employee theft from the register at Dillons, 4107 10th St.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a vehicle at 2611 27th St. Apt. 14.
Graffiti was reported on the side of Golden Belt Cinema 6, 1222 Kansas Ave., Tuesday afternoon.
At 6:27 a.m. Wednesday, a broken vehicle window was reported at 2620 19th St.

A semitrailer hit a deer at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday on NW K-96 at mile marker 168.
