Great Bend Fire/EMS

Firefighters were dispatched to Cerv’s, 1000 Main, at 5:15 a.m. for a possible fire. They found smoke and vented from a hot motor. There was no fire.

Emergency Medical Service responded to three ambulance calls Friday, eight Saturday and three Sunday.

GBFD was also on standby Friday at the Great Bend High School football game, and Friday and Saturday at the Rock-N-Q on the Planes Festival at the Expo grounds.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:22 a.m. Friday at NW K-96 and mile marker 178.

A caller reported illegal hunting Saturday.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:42 a.m. Saturday at 3224 18th St., Great Bend.

A theft was reported at 610 N. Kennedy, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:06 a.m. Sunday at West K-4 and mile marker 110.

A fight was reported at 6:35 p.m. Sunday at the Barton County Detention Center, 1408 Kansas Ave., Great Bend.


Great Bend Police

A sex offense was reported at 12:57 a.m. Friday.

A theft was reported at 913 8th St.

A cellphone and ID were found at Lakin and Odell.

Theft of a lawn mower was reported at 2310 Prairie Rose Circle.

A theft was reported at Great Bend High School.

A burglary in progress was reported at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 1600 Baker Ave.

Criminal damage to a garage at 701 Morton St. was reported.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:41 a.m. Saturday at 19th and Harrison.

Two dogs were reported stolen from 2812 16th St.

An injury crash was reported at 6:13 p.m. Saturday at Broadway and McKinley.

Police responded to a domestic call at 8:03 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Hubbard. An attempt to locate (ATL) bulletin was issued after a subject reported being battered by a known individual.

Theft of a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle bearing Texas tag 593E4E was reported at 11:46 p.m. Friday at 2212 Heizer St.

An officer reportedly witnessed a domestic battery occur in the parking lot of Charlie’s Place, 1109 Main, at 2:15 a.m. Sunday and arrested Julio Ayala Jr. for domestic battery and interference with a law enforcement officer. Ayala was booked into jail and released after posted a $1,000 surety bond through Ace Bail Bonding.

A bicycle that had been missing from the 2600 block of 12th Street was located in a backyard in the 1200 block of Morphy. It was returned to the owner.

Theft of fuel was reported at Love’s Country Store, 1221 10th St.

Police were called to a disturbance at 10:55 p.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of 19th Street. A subject reported being battered by two unknown males.
