When the Great Bend Police Department attempted to investigate a report of a drunk driver, the suspect attempted to leave and backed into the police vehicle.

According to the GBPD’s Daily Incident Log, at 12:51 a.m. Sunday, an individual in the 400 block of Dogwood St. reported Auden Galindo was parked across the street from her house and he was drunk. After Galindo reportedly attempted to leave the scene and struck a police vehicle, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate the crash.

Galindo was arrested and booked for driving under the influence, reckless driving, improper backing and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.
