Great Bend Fire/EMS

Great Bend Emergency Medical Service had nine ambulance runs Monday. Firefighters responded to a variety of calls early Monday morning beginning with a smoke smell at a residence at 2:06 a.m. in the 2000 block of 32nd Street. Nothing was found, but services were shut down until the owners could contact an electrician Tuesday morning.

A report of a mechanical fire followed at 3:55 a.m. from Kansas Machine Works, 198 N. U.S. 281, Great Bend. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

Firefighters also responded to a system malfunction, a smoke smell at a residence before a report of a mechanical fire at 8:23 a.m. from Great Bend Redi-Mix at 2519 Fifth St. 

The day ended with a fire from an illegal burn at 4:56 p.m. at Second Street and Kiowa Road, Great Bend.

A gas leak/spill was reported at 5:55 a.m. Monday at 5909 Hemlock Drive.

A domestic incident was reported at 6:44 a.m. at 2005 Patton Road.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:46 a.m. at Broadway and Harrison.

A battery was reported at 11:33 a.m. at 18th and Kansas.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:26 p.m. at Forest Ave. and Morton.

A structure fire was reported at 1:01 p.m. at Sutherlands, 5520 10th St. False alarm.

A domestic incident was reported at 9:23 p.m. at 3807 12th St.


Barton County Sheriff

A domestic incident was reported at 6:44 a.m. Monday at 2005 Patton Road, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:16 a.m. at 2005 Patton Road, Great Bend.

A structure fire was reported at 10:56 a.m. at NW 180 Road and NW 60 Ave., Galatia.

A burglary in progress was reported at 11:32 p.m. at 109 SW 6 Ave., Great Bend.
