Semi driver injured in Ellsworth County crash



Kansas Highway Patrol reports a single vehicle crash in Ellsworth County which occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 20 at 1:48 p.m. Rodney E. Keller, a 70-year-old man from Harley, Iowa, was driving a semi pulling a 2021 Great Dane trailer. The driver was eastbound on K-156 when he drifted off to the right-hand side of the road, striking a bridge rail before going off the roadway and down a steep embankment. The vehicle then went up a hill, went airborne and then back down another steep embankment before coming to rest in a soybean field.

His injuries were suspected to be serious. The patient was transported to Ellsworth Medical Center for treatment.
