WICHITA — John O. Dick, 71, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on July 8. John spent his working career in the oil and gas industry, along with Boeing where he retired as a facilities engineer. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and lover of the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Marium; son, John Dick of Wichita; daughters, Jan (Sean) Miller and Sheri (Alex) Hamilton of Lawrence; mother, Hazel Dick of Hays; grandchildren, Avery Miller, Harrison Miller, Zoe Hamilton and Sophia Hamilton, all of Lawrence; and sisters, Barbara (Don) James of Burlington, N.C., Joan Phelps of Havelock, N.C., Ann (Leon) Staab of Hays and Mary (Rod) Reel of Abilene.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Church of the Magdalen. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, also at the Church of the Magdalen.
