Kent Darrell Hoss 1953 - 2011

Kent Darrell Hoss, 57, died Feb. 20 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center after a three battle with cancer. Born June 29, 1953 in Great Bend, he was the son of Paul and Dorothy Alice (Hall) Hoss. A resident of Great Bend most of his life, he was a carpenter and roofer.

Mr. Hoss was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Survivors include his father, Paul Hoss, of Great Bend; a daughter, Summer Rae Hoss of Great Bend; two brothers, Don Hoss and wife Anita of Overland Park and Tim Hoss and wife Debbie of Stafford; five sisters, Paula Rixon and husband Kent of St. John, Barbara Shirk and husband Layne and Deanna Martinez and husband Tony, all of Great Bend, Mary Alice Jones of Sterling and Jane Bowers and husband Robert of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hoss; and an infant brother, Danny Hoss.

Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend officiated by Father Reginald A. Urban. Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Seward. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Summer Hoss Education Fund or Holy Family School Endowment Fund, in care of the funeral home.
