HUDSON — Michael “Mike” Dean Haddon, age 65, passed away on Sept. 19, 2023 at Stafford County Hospital, Stafford, Kan. He was born on Jan. 31, 1958 in Fresno, Calif., the son of Dean and Janet (Eklund) Haddon.
He had been a road maintainer for Hayes Township, Stafford County, Kan., for many years. Mike was a member of the Stafford Co. Fire Dept., Hudson Station #430 where he was the assistant fire chief and Hudson city council member for 20 years. He loved woodworking and spending time with his grandkids target shooting. He and his previous wife, Denise, have two children, Brian (Sharon) Haddon, South Carolina and Melissa (Mario) Moreno, Shawnee, Kan. On Apr. 26, 2002 he married Debbie (Hathaway) in Hudson, Kan., she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Janet Haddon, Great Bend, Kan.; a step-son, Richard Reynolds, Houston, Texas; a brother, Mitchell Haddon, Great Bend, Kan/; a sister, Michelle (Todd) Churchill, Hays, Kan.; six grandchildren, Kamie and Kimberly Haddon, Ethan, Sam and Griffin Moreno and Cooper Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean.
There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, 2 p.m., at the Hudson Community Hall with pastor Wade Russell presiding. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Trinity Community Church, Peace Church or Stafford Co. Fire Department all in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
