Terry Raymond Kowalsky 1942 - 2012

KANOPOLIS — Terry Raymond Kowalsky, 69, died July 7 at his home in Kanopolis. Born Nov. 15, 1942 in Great Bend, he was the son of Leo Joseph and Hilda Margaret (Heinz) Kowalsky. He was a resident of Kanopolis since 2009, coming from Redding, Calif. where he had been a longtime resident. He operated a machine shop in Redding, Calif. and also farmed and raised cattle. He was involved in area dirt track racing in the 1960s and 1970s.
Mr. Kowalsky served in the National Guard.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn Kowalsky of Texas and Stacy Kowalsky and his wife Meredith of Winfield; two sisters Jane Komarek Richardson and her husband Jack of Great Bend and Glenda Heinz and her husband Mark of Ellinwood; two brothers, Kenny Kowalsky and Alan Kowalsky, both of Ellinwood; two grandchildren, Kyle Kowalsky and Austin Kowalsky; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Don Bedore officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society or American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
