Thomas Allen Sheridan 1947 - 2018

MCPHERSON — Thomas Allen Sheridan, 70, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at Harry Hynes Hospice Center at Via Christi-St. Francis RMC, Wichita.
He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer (retired 1994) in the United States Navy and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also an electrician at Board of Public Utilities and Johns Manville.
Tom was born on March 24, 1947, in Ellsworth the son of Allen H. “Skeet” and Marcella B. (Lipski) Sheridan. He graduated from Bushton Rural High School in 1965. On Oct. 23, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Agnes M. Hickel at the Holy Name Catholic Church near Bushton.
Tom was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post No. 2715, and American Legion Post No. 24.
Survivors include: wife, Agnes of the home; son, Frederick Sheridan and wife, Ashley, and granddaughter, Hanna Grace, Lehigh; sisters, Theresa McKinney, Salina; Donella Zink, Claflin; and Nancy Schwartz and husband, John, Moundridge; aunt, Eleanor Bach, Manhattan; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, John McKinney and Terry Zink.
The visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Hien Nguyen officiating. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, at Carneiro Cemetery in Carneiro. Memorial donations may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or VFW Post No. 2715 in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
