Tino Vieyra Jr.

God blessed this world for 59 years with you. But what he has given, he has taken back. God has given Tino Vieyra Jr his wings to fly high with him. No more pain, no more tears. He fought so hard till the very end. Our hearts are broken, but we know he is free.

Tino Vieyra Jr., age 59 years, of Mobile, Ala., and formerly of Great Bend, Kan., passed away on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2021 in Great Bend, Kan. Tino was born on Dec. 10, 1961 at Larned, Kan. to Tino Vieyra Sr. and Patsy (Patterson) Vieyra, and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1979. Tino was an excellent mechanic. There was no job to big. He was always willing to help family and friends in any way needed. Tino loved rock n roll music, especially the band Kiss. He was able to go to many concerts and enjoyed every one. Tino worked at Fed Ex Freight in Mobile, Ala., until his health declined and he moved to his mother’s in Great Bend six months ago. Tino had an ornery, fun loving personality and loved life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends dearly and definitely was a “momma’s” boy. Tino was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Prince of Peace Parish in Great Bend, Kan. He loved animals and adored his big black Chow dog, Max.

Survivors include his mother, Pat Scheuerman of Great Bend, Kan.; six sisters, Sissy Saindon (fiance’ Gerry Schartz) of Great Bend, Kan. (and her children Tyler Saindon and Taylor (Kelsey) Saindon and Tino’s little sidekick his great niece Kalli Nicole Saindon, all of Great Bend, Kan.), Mary (Brian) Schridde of Great Bend, Kan. (and children Zachary Schridde of Olathe, Kan. and Joshua Schridde of N.C.), Deidre (John) Baker of El Dorado, Kan. (and children Shayla (Aaron) Woldorf, Miranda, MacKenzy, Macy, and Gracy of Towanda, Kan.) and Jessica (Tim) Ferguson of El Dorado, Kan. (and Tristen) and Jason (fiance’ Carah) Baker of Wichita, Kan. (and Jamison and Millie Mae of Wichita, Kan.), Lisa Frame of Los Angeles, Calif., Terri Wilson of Great Bend, Kan., and Brenda Ratlief of Salem, Ala.; many other nieces and nephews; best friend/brother Jon Barrigan of Freeport, Fla. Tino was preceded in death by his father Tino Vieyra Sr. in December of 2003, and his beloved canine best friend Max in April of 2021.

In accordance with Tino’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kan. with Father Prakash Kola officiating.
