CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Wesley Charles Cowan, 46, died unexpectedly June 2, 2020, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on March 25, 1974, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Grant K. and Mary M. (Frederick) Cowan.
Wesley spent most of his life working for the railroad first as a conductor and then working his way up to engineer. He enjoyed the opportunity to travel and see different parts of the country and world that this career allowed him. He worked for the railroad until he retired due to disability a few years ago, settling in the Corpus Christi, Texas area at that time. After settling in Corpus Christi, Texas he invested in rental properties and fixed them up. He loved to help his friends and would help them out whenever he could. He was an avid dog lover, which was shown in the love he had for his three chocolate labs. Above all, he was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and cousin.
Survivors include, his son, Patrick Cowan and wife Karisa of Great Bend, and his daughter, Krystal Tuggle and husband Casey of Hoisington; a sister, Cassandra Alexander and husband Darren, along with a niece, Brooklyn, all of Coffeyville. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Courtney presiding. Interment will be in the Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society or the Wesley C. Cowan Scholarship Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
