On Feb. 15, Justin and Amber Clark have opened a liquor store at 4006 10th St. in Great Bend  they’ve dubbed On the Rocks.
The new store will offer a loyalty program, drink recipes, and other specialties.  The hours are 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Amber grew up in Ulysses and the couple moved to this area in May of last year (from Ulysses) and bought a home in Great Bend in November.
Justin grew up in Bushton so he is familiar with this area. He is a unit leader at the Larned State Hospital, went to Fort Hays State.
Amber went to Hays Academy of Hair Design in 2004 and to Garden City Community College in 2011 to receive her Cosmetology Instructors License. The two then owned the Charisma Salon for five years in Ulysses, selling it prior to moving to Great Bend.
Amber received the State of Kansas Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2010 after she was nominated by the Ulysses Chamber of Commerce  for her successful salon business that she started at the age of 20. “Although I still love the beauty industry and someday hope to continue doing hair, I’m excited to start this new adventure and plan for the future,” she said.
