Through the Michelin Soccer Program, Great Bend Recreation Commission has received more than $650 from G-B Tires and Michelin. Closing its 15th year, the Michelin Soccer Program has raised more than $18 million in funds for youth all across the country.
“The Michelin Soccer Program has been a great way to give something back to our community,” said Tim Garrett at G-B Tires. “Everyone gets excited about it because everybody wins. The kids get soccer balls, their organizations get a donation, and we get to show our thanks to Great Bend for supporting us.”
The Michelin Soccer Program connects Michelin tire dealers with local youth organizations. Organization families are each given a certificate that for 30 days can be redeemed for a free soccer ball, soccer bag, cooling towel or sports drink bottle. Also during the promotion period, $2 from every Michelin-brand tire sold to the general public goes back to the league, which the organization can spend on field repair, scholarships, uniforms or general upkeep.
“We’ve been making community connections for 15 years through this program,” said Jason Strand, Michelin marketing manager. “The local nature of the relationships formed through the Michelin Soccer Program make it a resounding success year after year.”
