Local author Becky Gillette announced this week her upcoming book signing event for her debut book, “Jessie’s Corner: Something To Think About.” The event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at Dilly & Doc Creative Studio, 1119 Main Street in Great Bend. 

“Jessie’s Corner” marks a significant milestone for Gillette as her first published work. This collection features approximately 104 thought-provoking essays, each essay draws inspiration from randomly selected scriptures in the Bible and reflects upon a diverse range of topics. 

From personal anecdotes about getting lost to profound reflections on decision-making in today’s world, these stories resonate with readers of all ages. Gillette encourages readers to look beyond their preconceived notions and embrace God’s plan, finding salvation through His guidance.

Phyllis Brack, the owner of Dilly & Doc, has contributed her artistic skills to “Jessie’s Corner” as the book’s illustrator. This collaboration marks Phyllis Brack’s first venture into book illustration, and her artwork adds an extra dimension to the essay’s overall message of growth.  

“Jessie’s Corner” is available for purchase in various formats, including hardback, paperback, and ebook editions. In addition to the book signing, attendees will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative process and bring the book’s themes to life. Dilly & Doc will be offering art kits for sale during the event. 

These art kits align with the essence of “Jessie’s Corner,” and provide participants with all the necessary supplies to take home and engage in artistic expression and further reflect on the message of the book as they read. 

Participants can pre-order the kits on Dilly & Doc’s website or purchase them on the day of the event for $15 each. The kits include locally made Dilly & Doc chalk paint and a variety of art supplies inspired by the themes explored in “Jessie’s Corner.”
