The Pilot Club of Great Bend recently installed the executive board for the 2024-2025 service and program year. After an outstanding award-winning service year led by Past President Daniel Watson the club is looking forward to the coming 2024-2025 Pilot year, guided by the Pilot International Pearl Sparks Community Service recipient Betty Schneider and her team.
For 36 years the Pilot Club of Great Bend has been a chapter of Pilot International whose mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. To do this, they come together in friendship and give people an outlet for service in the community. They support the “ABCs” of Pilot International namely, Advocating leadership and Service in youth and young adults; Brain Safety and Health, and Caring and Supporting caregivers in the community.
As a major county sponsor, Great Bend Pilot members support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, plan workshops and programs on Autism, such as the upcoming Oct. 5, workshop at BCC. The club uses their award winning BrainMinders program to teach brain safety and injury prevention to youth and seniors, and year-round as the “Helmet People”, the club provides county wide free bike helmet giveaways. In the coming year the club will be active with several projects to aid and support the community fulfilling their mission to improve the quality of life in the community.
