Absconder arrested in traffic stop; K-9 indicates drugs

The Great Bend Police Department’s K-9 unit was called to investigate after a traffic stop in the 900 block of Kansas Ave. at 11:05 p.m. Saturday. Suspected methamphetamine was found and two people were arrested.
Bobby Stark, Hoisington, was booked in the Barton County Jail on charges of obstructing legal process, with bond set at $5,000, and on a Kansas Department of Corrections warrant for parole violation, with no bond.
The Kansas Department of Corrections website shows Stark, 28, returned to prison in 2013 for a Barton County drug conviction, was released this year on Feb. 27 with post-release supervision, but absconded on April 6.
Reynoldo Martinez of Great Bend was booked on charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school (Riley Elementary), unlawful possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, in lieu of $100,000 bond.
