The Barton County Health Department reported the first confirmed positive case of coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) in Barton County. Testing was confirmed on Monday, March 30 at 11 a.m.

Local law enforcement seeking the public’s help in located wanted person, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said. They are looking for Shaina Kuester, age 23 of Great Bend. Kuester is described as a white female, 160 pounds, brown hair and hazel eyes. 

Kuester is wanted for two corrections warrants for possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested Jan. 20 for flee and elude and possession of meth, and was out on bond when these warrants were issued.
