Members of the Boys Scouts of America organizations in Barton County will be “Scouting for Food” this Saturday, Nov. 14. The public is asked to help by donating nonperishable food items to local food banks. Items can be donated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day by leaving them in designated area at local grocery stores.
Anyone who is unable to donate items during those hours can still participate. Call 620-793-9208 to make arrangements for pickup of items. A local scout will be glad to pick up items from your doorstep, sponsors said.
Suggested items included canned fruits and vegetables, dry pasta, peanut butter and canned meats.
