Commission talks meeting days, city talks 2021 wages

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Monday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes moving the commission meetings to Wednesdays, the American Rescue Plan Act funding reimbursements distributions and an appointment to the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at the Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St. One can also view the meetings on Access TV via Cox Cable Channel 20 or live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/. The meeting will be recorded.  The agenda includes permissions for Party in the Park Aug. 14, a conditional use permit for Wheatland Electric’s wind energy conversion system to be installed at 200 10th Street, the 2021 street chip-and-seal project bid, the evaluation of City Administrator Kendal Francis and a work session to discuss 2022 city wages.
