A Ness City man died after the vehicle he was driving went off X Road in Ness County Wednesday night.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 9:30 p.m., 0.4 miles north of K-96. Travis Lee Smith, 27, was driving south in a 2001 Dodge Stratus when he lost control. The car hit an embankment on the east side of the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll and eject the driver. The car then came to rest on its wheels facing northeast in a field.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. KHP reports he was not wearing a seat belt.
