ODIN — Two northern Barton County fire departments responded to a barn fire Monday morning. Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir reported that at about 9:14 a.m. the Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire at 774 NE 140 Road, 1.25 miles west of Odin. Upon arrival, it was found that a barn was completely engulfed in flames.
Units from the Claflin Fire Department and EMS as well as the Beaver Fire Department responded to the location and quickly brought the fire under control. The structure was a total loss.
The cause of the fire still under investigation but it is suspected electrical problems may have ignited the building. The estimated amount of loss still pending.
